There’s a forest in Poland where all of the trees grow crooked. No one knows how they came to be this way but writer Jamie Crock with illustrator Grace Fraraccio make some plausible guesses involving aliens, the wind and some strange planets.

Jamie and I met when we were very, very small. Years passed with few notable interactions besides simply existing as kids in the same class. He was the one with pet ducks and I was probably pretending to be a dog in my legionnaires cap and fuzzy red hair.
After graduating, we became good friends with shared appreciation for quality paper, Tolkien and whisky. Several moons, conversations and creative collaborations later, The Crooked Trees was born!
